Olmsted Orthodontics is celebrating a significant milestone this year. Since opening in Oak Ridge Commons in 2014, the practice has spent ten years creating beautiful smiles for patients aged 7 to 80 in northwest Guilford County and beyond.
Dr. Matt Olmsted, a Summerfield native and Northwest Guilford High School alumnus, dreamed of opening an orthodontic practice in his home area.
“This is where my roots are, and I’m extremely happy to be able to work in the community I grew up in,” he said. “I’m grateful for the support and trust I’ve received over the last 10 years.”
Dr. Olmsted earned his undergraduate degree from Duke University, where he was a four-year letterman for the varsity swim team. After dental school and a master’s degree in orthodontics from UNC-Chapel Hill, he spent two years in a fellowship program gaining experience with Invisalign aligners. He has since become one of the most experienced orthodontists in the state with these aligners. Besides working with his patients, Dr. Olmsted teaches as a clinical assistant professor in UNC-Chapel Hill’s Department of Orthodontics and stays current with the latest orthodontic research and advances.
Staying up-to-date on the latest technology is a priority at Olmsted Orthodontics.
“We believe strongly in offering our patients the most cutting-edge diagnostic software and treatment planning,” Dr. Olmsted said. “We also believe in making things as convenient as possible, providing video conference capabilities and virtual visits.”
Dr. Olmsted is dedicated to providing the best possible patient care, putting in significant time and effort to achieve this.
“We want to give our patients an exceptional experience every time they visit,” he said. “They are our guests, and we are their home for orthodontic care and more confident smiles.”
Dr. Olmsted and his staff value the one-on-one, face-to-face relationships they have with patients and their families. “We are proud to cultivate those relationships by treating our patients’ brothers and sisters and even parents and their children,” he said.
When he’s away from his orthodontic practice, Dr. Olmsted enjoys spending time with his family. He and his wife, Câline, a former All-American women’s lacrosse player at Duke and now a private lacrosse coach, have been married for 13 years.
They have a son, William, 9, and a daughter, Catherine, 7. The family enjoys visits to the Greensboro Science Center, Greensboro Children’s Museum, and parks in Oak Ridge and Summerfield.
