Barmer, a health insurance provider, has released a new study that focuses on orthodontic therapies, particularly for children in Rhineland-Palatinate. The research aims to understand how often children receive orthodontic treatments in the region.
The study raises important questions: At what age do children typically need braces? Do orthodontic methods differ by region? Is there a gender difference in treatment rates? Barmer will present the findings of their dental research today at 10 a.m. Dunja Kleis, the regional head of Barmer, will share the results with policyholders and explain their implications for Rhineland-Palatinate.
Conducted by researchers from Dresden’s Technical University, the study examined various orthodontic methods, including the use of braces and other materials with a circular cross-section. The results may influence the types of braces that orthodontists prescribe in Rhineland-Palatinate.
Barmer’s commitment to understanding orthodontic treatments reflects its dedication to improving dental care for children and families in the region.
