ST. LOUIS, Sept. 23, 2024 — Centene Corporation (NYSE: CNC), a prominent healthcare company focused on improving health outcomes, announced today that its subsidiary, Health Net Community Solutions (Health Net), has been chosen by the California Department of Health Care Services to manage dental care services for Medi-Cal beneficiaries in Los Angeles and Sacramento counties. The new contract, which spans 54 months, is set to begin on July 1, 2025.
Health Net boasts a network of over 1,000 dental providers and currently offers comprehensive dental care to nearly 385,000 members in these counties. Overall, Health Net serves approximately 2.2 million Californians, including more than 1.5 million Medi-Cal members.
The organization employs a holistic approach that addresses social determinants of health, aiming to reduce disparities, improve health outcomes, and enhance access to quality care across the state. With this latest award, Health Net joins two other managed care organizations selected to provide dental services under Medi-Cal.
