Northeast Delta Dental Secures Naming Rights for Ballparks in Maine And Vermont

by Mary

The New Hampshire Fisher Cats will soon see a familiar name when they play against the Portland Sea Dogs in Maine. The Sea Dogs, the Double-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, have announced a 10-year naming rights agreement with Northeast Delta Dental, renaming their ballpark to Delta Dental Park at Hadlock Field.

Delta Dental has also secured a similar deal with the Vermont Lake Monsters, a collegiate summer baseball team based in Burlington. This partnership will rename their venue to Delta Dental Park at Centennial Field, according to Tom Raffio, president and CEO of Northeast Delta Dental. These agreements position Delta Dental as a prominent partner across its three-state Northern New England region.

The company plans to expand its community programs, which have been successful at Fisher Cats games, into Maine and Vermont. These initiatives include promotions aimed at educating families about oral health and ticket giveaways for local nonprofits. Raffio noted that many attendees at these games lack dental coverage through their employers, highlighting the importance of spreading awareness about dental care.

Currently, Delta Dental has eight years remaining on its existing 10-year contract with the Fisher Cats at Delta Dental Stadium. Both the New Hampshire and Maine teams are owned by Diamond Baseball Holdings.

The partnership with the Sea Dogs came together quickly—within three months—to ensure the name change would be ready for the Sea Dogs’ season opener in April. Raffio explained that their experience with the Fisher Cats helped shape this agreement.

While Raffio did not disclose the financial details of the new deal, he mentioned it is more expensive than the one with the Fisher Cats due to its broader reach as a Red Sox affiliate.

The new name will be prominently displayed on the stadium’s exterior and throughout marketing materials. A new logo featuring Delta Dental’s name alongside the ballpark’s iconic lighthouse has also been created.

“We are thrilled to expand our relationship with Delta Dental as they join our beloved Sea Dogs at Hadlock Field,” said Pat Battle and Peter Freund, executive chairman and CEO of Diamond Baseball Holdings, in a statement.

Raffio also indicated that while the deal with the Vermont Lake Monsters has not yet been officially announced, it is part of their growing partnership in the region.
