KARACHI: In response to the global challenge posed by oral diseases, Bahria University Dental College (BUDC) recently organized a free dental checkup camp at Taleem Gah Dukhtaran-e-Awam Trust Girls High School in DHA, Azam Town Phase 1.
The camp was run by a team of healthcare professionals from BUDC, including Dr. Maria Moin, Assistant Professor and Head of the Community Dentistry Department, Dr. Mohsin Haider, Senior Lecturer, Dr. Rabbia Imtiaz, Lecturer in Community Dentistry, and second-year BDS students.
The event served 500 students from both primary and secondary levels. Participants received dental checkups, learned proper tooth-brushing techniques, and received guidance on maintaining good oral hygiene.
The dental team documented the students’ oral health conditions using validated WHO forms and followed strict sterilization protocols to ensure safety.
Overall, the students’ oral hygiene was found to be satisfactory. The school principal and staff praised the BUDC team for their efforts in raising awareness about dental health.
The BUDC team is committed to continuing these educational sessions to address any further questions and promote oral health awareness in the community.
