TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — LIBERTY Dental Plan of Florida, Inc. (LIBERTY), a dental benefits administrator, has announced a donation of $10,000 to support hurricane relief efforts in Florida. The funds will go to Volunteer Florida, an organization dedicated to strengthening communities through national service and volunteerism.
Hurricanes Helene and Milton significantly impacted the state. Hurricane Helene made landfall on September 26, 2024, as a Category 4 storm, affecting millions and resulting in fatalities, widespread flooding, power outages, and severe damage.
Shortly after, Hurricane Milton struck on October 9, 2024, as a Category 3 hurricane, worsening the destruction in many areas already affected by Helene.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with those impacted by Hurricanes Helene and Milton, including our enrollees, providers, partners, and employees,” stated Heather Stearns, President of State Markets at LIBERTY Dental Plan. “As a Florida-based plan, we are deeply committed to our communities. LIBERTY is grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the hurricane relief efforts and appreciates everyone, including our Florida team, for their support.”
In addition to the financial contribution, the LIBERTY team has volunteered their time and resources. They have also donated oral hygiene products, including toothbrushes, toothpaste, dental floss, supply bags, lip balm, and educational materials on oral health.
LIBERTY aims to provide the highest quality oral health care to its partners, patients, and members.
