Dr. Thomas Jackson, a practicing periodontist and prosthodontist, has founded Smyles Above Innovations Inc., a company focused on developing advanced dental devices and oral care products. These innovations aim to enhance the success of dental implants from placement to maintenance, along with creating effective flossing tools for hard-to-reach areas. Dr. Jackson will officially introduce Smyles Above Innovations at “The Great Oral Health Pitch,” hosted by The Shils Entrepreneurial Fund during the 2024 Greater New York Dental Meeting on Monday at 2:30 PM.
“Smyles Above was created to unify my two existing products, IrriGUIDE and The AutoFlosser, under one brand,” Dr. Jackson explained. “This integration will improve our operations and sales, making our company more efficient and appealing to investors.”
Dr. Jackson is seeking additional funding to further develop these products and enhance sales and marketing efforts for his well-received innovations:
IrriGUIDE: This retrofit adapter is designed for any dental implant surgical guide system. It allows saline to flow through the guide, irrigating and cooling the implant site to maintain a safe temperature below 47°C. Dr. Brian Vence praised the IrriGUIDE System, stating it significantly improves the chances of osseointegration by preserving crucial bone during guided surgery.
The AutoFlosser: This innovative flossing solution is tailored for all-on-X patients and those with connected appliances like implants, bridges, braces, and bonded retainers. Hygiene expert Lynn Pencek noted that the AutoFlosser enables patients to easily reach difficult areas, making it ideal for individuals with limited dexterity.
Dr. Jackson aims not only to raise awareness and market share for IrriGUIDE and The AutoFlosser but also to fully commercialize several other inventions he has in development. “My long-term vision for Smyles Above is to become a respected launchpad for innovative clinical and consumer solutions that promote better oral health,” he stated.
