Align Technology, Inc. has officially launched its 2025 Annual Research Award Program, aimed at enhancing orthodontic and dental patient care through innovative research. The program will provide up to $300,000 in funding for university faculty conducting clinical and scientific research worldwide.
Since its inception in 2010, the Research Award Program has allocated approximately $3.75 million to support various research initiatives. This year, Align Technology plans to award twelve one-year grants of up to $25,000 each across three regions: the Americas, EMEA (Europe, the Middle East, and Africa), and APAC (Asia-Pacific).
Dr. Mitra Derakhshan, Align’s executive vice president and chief clinical officer, emphasized the program’s significance, stating, “This initiative continues to attract significant scientific and clinical interest from researchers at universities around the globe. Our goal is to improve treatment outcomes and patient care while enhancing the understanding of tooth movement with clear aligners.”
John Morton, Align’s vice president of product innovation and technical fellow, added that past research topics have been diverse and often at the forefront of dental science. He noted, “Align Technology is proud to fund this research program with the purpose of improving dental care throughout the world.”
